MSI was founded in 1987 for the purpose of providing the fabric and textile industries with design and assembly services of sample books and other sample presentations. To this day MSI continues to design and manufacture innovative and effective sample tools for these and other industries.

The primary method of manufacturing sample books is the utilization of hand labor in the assembly of sample books, cards, and other selling aids. Utilizing its expertise in handwork, MSI, in the late 1980’s, began to expand its business by offering such handwork services to other industries, such as the graphic arts and printing industries. Many printed materials require further specialized assembly, gluing, and other finishing operations that could not be completed utilizing automated or semi-automated equipment. MSI recognized the need of these industries for a reliable source to perform such hand-work and assembly services.

During the next five years MSI became a leader in the hand finishing of a wide variety of products primarily serving the Chicago area printing industry. In addition to hand finishing and assembly, MSI expanded its services to include packaging, drop shipping, and fulfillment services. Today, MSI offers a wide variety of services to the printing and graphic arts industries, as well as complete design and manufacture of sample books for the fabric and textile industries.

Recognizing the need to expand the services offered its customers, in 1992 the company moved to its present location in the Chicago west suburb of Broadview. Today MSI occupies over 40,000 square feet of space including administrative, manufacturing, and warehousing.

The mission of MSI continues to be a partner with its customers striving to offer the best possible service and quality at competitive prices.
